Nice...

I wanna travel to either Tunis or Marocco... What do you advice? And why?

Thanks for those lovely pictures! Looks very nice - and very relaxed while fascinating at the same time... It must be a city, rich on culture...

Diri

If i had to choose , I would choose Morocco anytime . may be because i dont know Tunisia very well ( had a short visit a few years back for a weeek only in Hammamet , very nice but i have heard the Island of Djerba is very nice too ) but i know Morocco since i lived there 11 years .

It has a rich past of Islamic Architecture and old Palaces and Mosques , it has nice little old towns in dark pink color (why the color because the soil is deep red and when there are sand storms , the walls get covered with the reddish color of the soil , so now it is sorted icon_wink.gif )
You get also the comfort you need in Nice hotels (5 star ) and all top service required . but you get to see all sorts of colorful things in markets and souks . The art craft is very beautiful and interesting to discover too.

I would suggest to VIsit Marrakesh , Fez and Mekness and Rabat , and if there is time Casablanca (which is more modern )

but can I suggest Egypt before Morocco ? especially if you are into Egypt Past and the Pyramids et... Fab to see the pyramids , you ll feel like a tiny dwarf . and the museum is out of this world and of course SHarm el Sheikh is another Paradise .

Oh great! Thanks... This sounds very interesting----> I have seen so many tourist guides and documentaries about Morocco - that I would realy like to go and see for myself...

Yes - I was thinking of Marakesh, Rabat and Casablanca - but what is special about those other two you mentioned? Fez and Mekness...?

Sounds like a lot of fun - and from what I have seen and read in travel programs/brocheurs it seems there is more to see than one could ever think imaginable...

Oh - Egypt... Well since I am studying Middle East Studies - I will study in Cairo for 6 months at an American University because I have chosen to specialize in Arabic... I am not going untill two more years...

But I want to "have a look around" some other Arab countries to get a more wholesome impression - and see different sides of the culture and people(s)...

The Pyramids - hm... You know - it doesn't sound so magnetic anymore - not after all the talk about it from when I was a little child - I guess it has lost some of it's mystic in my eyes - but I am sure it will rise again once I stand at their feet - gazing at them in the scortching sun...

I have another question, though - have you been to any other Arab countries, which you could tell a little bit about? Like Libya, Lebanon and Syria - I'd like to travel there too - and I am next autumn I will be in Damascus with my "class" for a two weeks... I am looking so much forward to it... icon_biggrin.gif
