Ancient Azeri town: Shusha

Armenians seek to turn ancient Azeri town into their ‘cultural center’

Baku, April 5, AssA-Irada
Armenian separatists are trying to turn Azerbaijan’s ancient town of Shusha into their own cultural center and plan to carry out this outrageous plan by holding an electronic referendum.
“Every Armenian will be able to access a special website and voice his opinion on the issue to facilitate the town’s turning into a scientific, cultural and tourism center for not only Upper (Nagorno) Garabagh and Armenia, but also all world Armenians,” the head of the self-styled Shusha Foundation, Bakor Karapetian, maintained.
Armenian scholars trying to distort history have discovered items dating back to the 12th century as well as the ancient Turkic period during their archaeological excavations in the territory of Shusha. The Armenian Catholic Church in Beirut, Lebanon had allocated $25,000 for the purpose.

Shusha was been the center for Azeri talents for centuries, many famous and legendary Azeris come from Shusha. One of the most unique artists come from Shusha Seher. Seeing Shusha suffer so much really hearts my heart. icon_sad.gif

There is some photographic evidence that Armenians are now settling in Shusha. icon_sad.gif Some foreigners have even reported that there is almost nothing left of ancient Shusha historical monuments, almost everything is destroyed icon_cry.gif I will try to get some photo's of current Shusha here.

Conflict/Cultural/Country Interest: armenia, turkey, azerbaijan, mostly, ...christian lebanon...

Are you bloody retarded??

first of all its SushI, and thats an ancient armenian name,,,....how could it be an azeri city?...shushi has always been an armenian city..have you ever been to shushi? i have...and i saw the thousand year old armenian churches there, and i also saw the only mosque in lkharabach there, build in the 70's...so, i think that is enough proof to show that there has never been an extended azeri presence in that city...

how could shushi become a cultural centre? there is nothing left there since the war, the buildings are still destroyed and so on...
